Jazz camp auditions to be held on Sunday June 7th from 11:00 - 2:00 at Archbishop Mitty High School.

Students should know major scales and have a jazz piece prepared, if possible. It could be a piece from school or another source. If the student is comfortable improvising, they should be ready to play on Bb blues.

Classes run from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm each day.

Location: Archbishop Mitty High School, 5000 Mitty Way, San Jose, CA 95129 (map)

The camp is for students 12-18 years old - 6th through 12th grade.

Students receive two weeks of intense instruction and playing in various areas of jazz: theory, small ensemble, big band, master classes, instrument-specific instruction, arranging, and other areas.

Skill level: Students should have basic playing knowledge on their instruments. This is not a class for people who have never played before.
