Ladies of Jazz Featuring Gaea Schell, Pamela Rose, Joyce Randolph, Kristen Strom, Kelly Fasman and Ruth Davies

Main Stage – Sunday Noon

Gaea Schell
Described as “one of West Coast’s best kept secrets”, Schell pulls in the listener with a minimalist approach that shines with interpretive sensibility rather than pure musicality.  Known among her peers for swinging every single note, subtle phrasing, and unique, lyrical writing, this Los Angeles-based pianist/ composer and recent vocalist is a native of Alberta, Canada where she grew up playing music from an early age.

Pamela Rose
Pamela Rose is a San Francisco jazz and blues vocalist who has thrilled audiences locally and internationally with her swinging, soulful style. Rose is that rare breed of entertainer who connects solidly with her audience by always delivering a personal and unforgettable musical experience. Pamela’s latest (and fourth) CD “Just For a Thrill”, was play listed on over 150 jazz stations, and earned her much praise: “... These are fully absorbed pearls and phrasings of a singer and composer who needs no improvement!”

Joyce Randolph
Fondly dubbed “the South Bay Diva” since her well-received BAJABA (Bay Area Jazz and Blues Artists) Showcase debut on KPFA radio in 2000, JOYCE RANDOLPH’S performances since that beginning have thrilled audiences in sold-out venues in the San Jose area. Working with world class musicians, this Stanford graduates’s warm, personal, and mature delivery of lyrics suggests a passionate and authentic understanding of the songs she sings. Joyce’s delivery of jazz, blues, ballads, and gospel is “up close and personal.”
