San Jose Jazz members' children and grand-children get a discount on tuition fee.

When: June 16-27, 2008. Classes run from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm each day.

Where: Archbishop MItty High School
5000 Mitty Way
San Jose, CA 95129

Who: For students 12-18 years old - 6th through 12th grade.

What: Students receive two weeks of intense instruction and playing in various areas of jazz: theory, small ensemble, big band, master classes, instrument-specific instruction, arranging, and other areas.

Special events:
- Camp closing concert on Friday, June 27 at 7pm.
- The Jazz Camp Band will be featured at the kick-off concert of the Jazz On the Row Series, in Santana Row, on June 24 at 6pm.
- The Jazz Camp Band will play at the 19th Comcast San Jose Jazz Festival, August 8-10.

Skill level: Students should have basic playing knowledge on their instruments. This is not a class for people who have never played before.

How much:
- San Jose Jazz members’ children and grand-children: $600 ($650 if paid after May 19, 2008)
- Non-members: $650 ($700 if paid after May 19, 2008)

Scholarships are available and will be awarded based on need and ability.

Audition: Dates to be announced. Auditions are for ensemble placement purposes. By assessing the students playing abilities, we can place students with similar abilities together in performing ensembles.
