With the Blues All Stars, we’ve put together a group of players that promise pure magic onstage. J.C. Smith began his performing career as drummer for the Back to Back Blues Band. In 2000, he emerged from behind his drums, armed with a Gibson 335, and attacked the Blues as if masters like T-Bone Walker, Albert King, and Johnnie Guitar Watson were guiding him. Smith has toured throughout the United States, Eastern Europe, Mexico, and South America to sellout crowds and feels that his goal in life is “to keep the Blues alive and take the message to the people.” The J.C. Smith Band’s current release, Defining Cool, entered the Living Blues Radio Charts at #16 and spent 20 weeks on the Roots Music Report.
Chris Cain's Jazz-tinged, Blues soaked guitar and deep warm vocals have the maturity and authenticity of a bluesman many years his senior. Through his guitar mastery and remarkable songwriting ability he has established himself as a musical “force” to be reckoned with. As the Mercury News reviewer John Orr writes, "…more than anyone else, anywhere, Chris Cain represents the future of the blues." Cain’s latest CD, So Many Miles, has been given rave reviews and showcases his unique brand of original music sophisticated Blues, Funk, Jazz and Gospel.
Legendary guitarist Dick Dale said, "Maxx Cabello, Jr., is a name you are going to remember!” This amazing young guitarist, soulful vocalist, and prolific songwriter, hails from the streets of the San Francisco Bay area where he is attracting the attention of the most jaded veteran musicians and music aficionados. Cabello has opened for greats such as Earth, Wind, and Fire; John Lee Hooker; Ozomatli; Roy Rogers; Tommy Castro; and the alternative group Third Eye Blind. Spanning Blues, Soul and R&B, his latest CD, My Love, was released on Valentine’s Day, 2011.
