Brian Ho, organ Calvin Keys, guitar Lorca Hart, drums
Brian Ho plays the Hammond Organ and is endorsed by Hammond-Suzuki Organs and Leslies. When he plays the organ, he solos and comps with his right hand while his left hand and feet play organ bass in the same tradition as the organ pioneers. Brian has been performing with some of the finest musicians including Akira Tana, Jason Lewis, Jim Witzel, Wally Schnalle, Chuck Mc Pherson and John Worley. He recently finished an album with Calvin Keys, Lorca Hart, and Oscar Pangilinan that features five of his original compositions.
Joining Brian's trio this night will be Calvin Keys and Lorca Hart. Guitarist Calvin Keys has played with several of the organ greats including Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and of course, Jimmy Smith. In addition, he was Ahmad Jamal's guitarist in the 70's and also played with Ray Charles. Drummer Lorca Hart comes from an impressive lineage. His father is the great drummer Billy Hart. Lorca is paving his own legacy as his energetic and infectious grooves have led him to touring and recording dates with the Clayton Brothers, Anthony Wilson, and Julian Lodge. He recently finished his own cd entitled Recollections.
As always, Brian's trio will continue to expand on the legendary sound of jazz with elements of funk, blues, and soul.
