Alberta Hunter, a native of Memphis, Tennesee,  was  a  legendary jazz and blues singer. During the 1920's and 1930's she recorded with Fats Waller, Fletcher Henderson, Eubie Blake, Louis Armstrong, Lil Hardin, and Duke Ellington.

Not only we are organizing an exciting series of free jazz lectures, but, to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month, we'll introduce you to the life of one jazz artist per day on this blog.

Here is the entertainment line up for April in the Hedley and it really is a great one. Considering the times, the club's been holding it's own pretty well and we have all of you to thank for it.
