Where: The Jazz Heritage Center's Lush Life Gallery, at 1320 Fillmore Street, is pleased to announce the opening of it's latest art exhibit experience.

When: The show is scheduled to preview May 14th, with the opening and artist reception on May 21st, 2009.

A group show will honor the masters of jazz that took part in the first world tours on behalf of the US State Department. This exhibit is in support of the nationally touring exhibit "JAM SESSION: JAZZ AMBASSADORS EMBRACE THE WORLD" previewing in the JHC's Koret Heritage Lobby, May 14th. The Koret Heritage Lobby is located at 1330 Fillmore Street, the entrance to Yoshi's S.F. and next door to the Lush Life Gallery.

"Jazz Ambassadors Up Close" include works by participating artist, Donald Greene, Lavirille Aber, Valeriy Kagounkin, Donna Wayman, Suzanne Cerny, Leroy Parker, Jeremy Sutton, Lynn Goodman and Allan Wray. These artist offer a variety of styles depicting up close and intimate portraits and figurative renderings of the selected images of jazz royalty, ie: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Dave Brubeck, Quincy Jones and Benny Goodman.

Also, in honor of Miles Davis Birthday Month of May and the 50th Anniversary of "Kind Of Blue" the best selling jazz album of all time, the Lush Life Gallery will also present simultaneously, a mini exhibit of Miles Davis imagery, featuring paintings and bronze sculpture by master artist Ed Dwight, paintings by Donald Greene, Rhonel Roberts, Lavirille Aber and Leroy Parker. The show is scheduled to preview May 14th, with the opening and artist reception on May 21st, 2009.
