Announcing Third Annual Silicon Valley Composer Showcase, March 14, 2010

Calling all local composers! Here is a chance to get your music heard. At our 2010 Winter Series, the Full Spectrum Jazz big band will play compositions by local composers. For the last two years, this competition produced some of the most exciting music heard at the series.

Here is how to get your music heard. Submit no more than two compositions that have been written in the last 2 years to the attention of Geoff Roach at the San Jose Jazz offices. The submissions could be complete big band arrangements, lead sheets, or anything in between. Recordings of the tunes are not necessary.

The music is due to the San Jose Jazz offices no later than December 18, 2009. The music, with the composer's identity removed, will be submitted to a panel of judges. The three judges will select the top 10-12 compositions. Where big band arrangements don't exist, San Jose Jazz will have the arrangements created. Special consideration will be given to compositions where arrangements exist.
