Progressions, our youth development initiative, is now fully active at both Santee Elementary and Success Academy and serves 50% more students than in 2011-12. A spring instrument drive will start the initiative’s transition into instrumental education. The High School All Stars have grown in diversity in their second year under Dr. Aaron Lington, with the ensemble now featuring highly skilled students from 14 different high schools in the area. Our Summer Jazz Camp in June will provide a once in a lifetime learning experience, pairing aspiring young players with amazing faculty. As we enter 2013, you can count on our programming being just as prominent: our weekly free concerts will continue in downtown San Jose. Another collection of hot young talent will create magic during March’s Winter Fest, and plans are being set for our most exciting Summer Fest yet, August 9-11.
