Candela (Spanish for candle or fire) is
a San Francisco-based nine piece salsa music
band created in 1987 under the direction
of Uruguayan born lead singer and conga
drummer Edgardo Cambón. It consists
of piano, bass, trombones, conga drums,
bongo drums, timbales and vocals .Its repertoire
includes various kinds of Latin music: Salsa,
Son, Bolero, Mambo, Cha-cha-chá,
Merengue, Timba, and Latin Jazz. When the
band plays in major clubs, often its performance
is preceded by a lesson of Salsa dancing.
